Looking in the depths of a photograph
Between the shades of black and white
I notice a face I've never seen before
A ghost of some kind behind a monochrome wall
Easy with the wordplays there, babe
Took a look around to find out if I could I see
If the stranger in question was anywhere to be
And here he is sitting on a rocking chair
With a pipe in hand and messed up hair
I ask him if he's got the answer to this Sudoku
That I've been trying to resolve in a month or two
In a second comes up with the number
With no questions asked or even a mumble
Easy with the wordplays there, babe
I asked are you a genius of some kind
A piper at the gates that I might find
When I'm older and crippled
With only my memories to watch the time pass away
He doesn't say no and doesn't yes
But his face does look quite intense
Then I turn mine away and shuffled my feet
Looked at the photograph he wasn't there to be
Easy with the wordplays there, babe
Could you ever show me a bag of tricks
The ones that make the grandchildren split
The ones that make them scared and make them chill
Is that the trend
